Camp Quality Reimagines Convoy Adelaide Amid Fuel Supply Pressures

Camp Quality Convoy Adelaide will shift gears in 2026, bringing South Australia’s trucking community together for a free Show ‘n’ Shine event at Victoria Park on Sunday, 24 May.

The traditional Convoy through Adelaide has been revised this year with Camp Quality pivoting the event in response to ongoing fuel supply uncertainty and rising pressures on the transport industry.

Instead, Convoy Adelaide will take on a new community-focused format at Victoria Park, supporting the trucking community just as they have supported us and the kids and families facing cancer who rely on our vital services and programs. The event will feature an incredible display of trucks, entertainment, fundraising activities and awards, and a family-friendly day out.

The free event will run from 10.00am to 1.30pm and include trucks on display, food vans, rides, face painting, roving entertainment, fundraising awards and family-friendly activities.

Adding to this year’s reimagined format is the inaugural Truck Pull Challenge, running from 11.00am to 1.00pm, giving teams a hands-on way to fundraise, test their strength and pull together for kids facing cancer. At 1.30pm, the truck drivers will join in a Big Honk for Little Kids, sounding their horns in one giant, unforgettable honk to celebrate the kids and families Camp Quality supports. The moment is expected to echo across Victoria Park and beyond in a powerful show of community spirit and solidarity.

Camp Quality Chief Executive Officer, Deborah Thomas, says Convoy Adelaide has always been about community, generosity and showing up for families going through a cancer diagnosis.

“Cancer doesn’t stop, and neither does Camp Quality’s commitment to supporting kids and families facing cancer, and the generous fundraisers who stand beside them,” says Deborah.

“We understand the pressures currently facing the transport and trucking industry. This new format gives our Convoy community a way to stay involved, while being mindful of those realities. For families facing cancer, extra financial pressure can make an already distressing time even harder, so the funds raised through Convoy Adelaide remain incredibly important.”

For Convoy participant Daniel Quaini, whose family runs Bonetti Transport and Hire, the cause is deeply personal. After experiencing some pain in his leg on and off for several years, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma in July 2023.

“I found out my wife and I were also expecting our first child that same week. I started with radiation therapy and chemo in August, and then in November, I was told that I had relapsed. I went through a more aggressive form of chemo and found out that I was in remission on my daughter’s due date. Since my diagnosis, I have been very passionate about raising awareness for cancer and doing what I can to help people in similar situations to me,” says Daniel.

Daniel’s family own a business together, Bonetti Transport and Hire. He handles day-to-day operations for all divisions of the company.
“I have been fortunate that I have lots of people around me, both with family and friends, but also connections through my work. Being a family business, my diagnosis really affected all of us.”
